Holiday Fever

This is the card to top last's years. So a 2nd peak at what I am thinking.

long long day....

My work day is clouded to say the least. I keep going over my Thanksgiving expectations:

• 4hours in the car will give me time to catch up on all the new music I downloaded last night
• too many pies to choose from, all made by Bruce and his infamous pie crust.
• A welcoming of the twins. hope to see matching outfits, of course
• Hearing what my nieces are thankful for.
• an afternoon of some card game my sister will make me play. (I'd much rather watch a dog show on TV or fold laundry)
• hanging out with my family minus Jaxson, may feel like I'm a college student again.
• an evening at the Touchdown Club with my brother-in-law and a pitcher.
• a fierce game of bowling to go with the previous.
• and the most important NAPS, lots of NAPS.

Probably more to add as the day goes by but I think that is a great start. Now, dont be silly, tell me what you are thankful for.........

On a road to success...

...to make me laugh anyway. This holiday Jax is headed east and I am headed west so packing for our separate trips was a bit daunting. But when he walked into my room looking like this I couldn't help but laugh until I cried. Packing definitely was put on hold to play "dress up". This thanksgiving I'm thankful for him, wigs and masks bought street side in Costa Rica. Now I have to get through my day of work with my mind already on holiday vacation.....ugh gonna be a long day.

It's basketball season in our house. He is really digging this sport and he shows quite the skills, must get it from his momma!

This sofa in my house and root showing hair color are in my future..... After spying these photos of Alexa Chung that hair color is totally doable! My hair has been over treated, mis-treated and it's still hanging on. So I'm going on a no dye diet from here on out. Thanks Alexa for showing your roots and making it look gooooooood. But the real challenge is to find the sofa.

a simple house for 2

A big stride may be taken in my grown up life. I'm meeting a realtor tomorrow and we are looking at this charming little house....I may or may not have more to come. Fingers crossed......

My Day at work....

A stocking contest is going on at my work for our annual customer holiday party. The heat is on to create the best stocking. These stockings are then auctioned off at the party and it's always a big deal to the person/persons who bring in the most $$ for their stockings. All the proceeds go to the Food Pantry, of course. But anything competitive, I say "BRING IT!!!" I shared with you all the material I had bought earlier this month, sooooooooo here is a sneak peak at how I spent my day.... The inspiration of these tree like stockings came from here, a crafty blogger I follow religiously. One more day of assembling and I'll show you the end product.

1. My latest wall collage idea has gone from "maybe" to "definitely" a failure. But whatever! Back to the drawing bored....

2. I will be Jax-free on thanksgiving and that I am not thankful for. But AT least I'll have my step-brothers, very new to the family, Lilly and Lauryn to substitute. can't WAIT!

3. It' s not fun & games anymore...I have to be to work tomorrow at 7:15!! Seriously, whatever! The pancake man will be there....and I better be the guy he throws a pancake at!

When I first started my career I often envied retail employees for the perks of major discounts on clothing. And I missed my college retail job more than I thought I would. I am now begining to see what perks I have in my career that make up for the loss of a clothing discount. #1 Much more $$$ and #2 inspiration I get for ideas at my own home. I have been more and more inspired from the simple samples I receive on a weekly bases. The other day as I was putting back cut samples of vinyl wall covering, I began brain storming ideas to make a wall out of samples and my latest Sara Session. So with a quick call to Sherwin Williams and then the competitor Benjamin Moore: I am in the beginning stages of a totally, oh so hip wall collage----




I am in need of a variety of different sized black frames to add depth, but I think I will LOVE the end result. I will update you all with a final product......

Nothing says good morning like Starbucks. Today was an extra special treat for me and that little chai tea latte; the fine gentleman at star bucks saved me $3 by ringing it up wrong and didn't make me pay for it. A bonus, I found my long lost necklace love at my sister's this morning. It's going to be a good day, I can feel it......plus The Xx new album up loaded to my ipod is keeping me company.

just a movie and dinner

New movie theater and of course we are interested. With the holiday right around the corner, it was a match we couldn't pass up. A Christmas Carol with a wait staff to bring us our soda and popcorn, who could ask for more?? Although after the movie, he concluded " I don't like watching the movie at a desk" This adventure is more for an adult outing, but enjoyed none the less and for about a mile this city has a new makeover that we approve of.

New to me....

I find myself in an extreme need to revolutionize myself. So in efforts to keep myself from doing something as drastic as chopping off 1/2 my hair, I'm going to launch Sequel. A new look, a new direction and a new social network await.
